“ I first saw the BuyaCar Web Site when reviewing a specific model Renault Scenic which Interested me. I approached our local Renault dealer with a view to ordering this model and arranging a part exchange. I was told by the salesman that this particular model would not be available in the UK before August. He quoted me a price and a vague trade in value for my car (making the deal unviable) and said he would keep in touch. I decided to check out the BuyaCar Web site to see if there were any better offers. I was immediately impressed by the clarity and detailed information of the Web Site, and even more so on the amazing discount available on the Renault models. Despite knowing nothing about BuyaCar other than the info on the Web Site and the mainly positive reviews by customers I decided to proceed with my enquiry. The order form was clear and simple to complete allowing detailed access to the model I required and adding extras as required. I was also given an on line valuation of the car I wished to part exchange with a guaranteed offer against the new car which made it simple to work out the viability of the transaction. I paid a deposit and was given a lead time from the manufacturer around mid July. In the event the car was ready a week earlier than projected, which clashed with a holiday I had pre booked. A quick phone call to Rob Shaddick and I was assured that delivery would be re-arranged to suit my return. On return I transferred the balance owing on the car from my bank a/c to BuyaCar and it was delivered on the date agreed at 7.30am in pristine condition by a very professional driver. My sincere thanks to Rob Shaddick and the BuyaCar team for making it not only an extremely satisfactory and hassle free way to purchase a new car, but for the amazing saving over the price quoted by the local dealer, who incidentally, did not keep in touch despite haing purchased 4 cars from them over the years! nor has even seen sight of the model that I purchased through BuyaCar! “ Buying a car as quickly as buying an mp3 takes a bit of getting used to, but once I'd decided on the car that I wanted (new Astra Elite), and finding that Buyacar had the car for ?6k off the list price, it didn't take me long to put the car into the shopping basket and check it out! As someone who doesn't feel comfortable haggling with salesmen to get the best deal, the in-built discount was one of the biggest benefits for me. The whole process was very smooth, with representatives emailing me from time to time with updates. I was initially told the car would take 12 to 16 weeks to arrive, but in the end it was delivered in around 9 weeks. I made payment by BACS - paying the money before the car is delivered can feel a bit disconcerting, but I had paid the deposit by credit card to make use of the insurance cover.This is now the second car I've bought on-line and would not hesitate to recommend it as a simple cost effective way of getting the car you want for a decent price. ”

“ The delivery period after buying can be quite long because buyacar are pretty much in the hands of the manufacturer after ordering and there isnt much that can be done but be patient. We weren't in that much of a hurry so it was worth the wait in the end for the exceptional value on the car which was received in perfect order and which we are totally satisfied with. This is also a very slickly run internet business without the frills (and costs) that you would get buying from a dealer. Because of the high volumes involved every customer can't really be contacted regularly with one to one updates so you do go a bit into limbo after ordering. Basically everything is pritty automated. You have to contact them for more personal updates if you need to (which is easy). The car wont be registered in your name until 6 months after you receive it. This could be to stop the buying and selling straight away thing. Again we were okay with that because you are still the owner of the car when you get it. They picked our part exchange car up on the same day, again no problems. And finally there were no hidden costs, what you click to buy is the deal that you get, excellent value and worth the wait. ”

However, I had forgotton the awfulness of an encounter with showroom salesmen. And this was even before they started talking about price and px! Buy-a-car gave me an-on-line quote for a new car and px. When I confirmed by phone all their staff were friendly and helpful and didn't try to sell me what I didn't want. The px price was better than I had been offered locally and they were prepared to hold the px price till the new car was delivered - 10 weeks. Payment was straightforward via my bank a/c and BACS. Delivery of the car was offered to suit my convenience. uA bonus was that the buy-a-car spplier called me and offered to supply and fit any accessories. I had planned to have some fitted by my local dealer, but this saved me a drive and a day lost - and the accessories were at a discounted rate. The car turned up exactly on time, with a very pleaseant and knowledgable driver, who also took the px away. I know he took care during the 250-mile drive to my home as the on-board computer showed a fuel consumption far better than anything I have yet been able to achieve. “The new car arrived at about 09:15 this morning. I could not fault it as it was in perfect condition. It was a leap of faith on the colour as we hadn't seen the Mazda 6 in that colour until today but we are now convinced we made the right choice.
