Kia Keep On Rolling...

KIA - KEEPING UP WITH CONSUMER DEMAND

Some problems are good to have - one in particular is the challenge of meeting high consumer demands. This is precisely the challenge that is being presented to Kia, a Korea-based automaker that has gained worldwide recognition in the past decade. Owned by the same company as Hyundai, Kia has shown plenty of promise in the years since it hit the mainstream market.

Now, the automaker is working to meet the demands for its popular Optima and Sportage, a midsize sedan and SUV, respectively.

KIA - KEEPING UP WITH CONSUMER DEMAND

Kia has actually been around in Korea for many years as a manufacturer of other goods before taking on the auto industry. Initially their automotive designs were bought out by other companies who sold those models under their own companies' names. In the 1990s, though, Kia came out with cars under their own name.

Unfortunately, they were soon faced with unfavorable sales numbers, so they joined forces with Hyundai, another Korean automaker. Since this point, Kia has rolled out such popular models as the Optima and Sportage, both of which are now at risk of a production shortage. Other notable models are the Soul, a relatively new model aimed at a younger audience, and the Forte (sometimes known as the Cerato) which is the brand-s highest-selling vehicle overall.

While the U.S. holds a large percentage of Kia's consumer base, the automaker's global sales have increased significantly over the past year. Kia has developed a reputation for developing high-quality vehicles for budget-minded drivers. Though they have experienced minimal complaints of steering column problems, the issues the automakers have faced have not been enough to tarnish their reputation. They still maintain a positive image, and thanks to their popularity, they have branched out with a wide range of vehicles, including economy cars, midsize sedans, minivans, and SUVs. Their warranty program is also one of the most extensive; their current one on most new vehicles is for seven years.
