Looking for a new car in the New Year? Take a peak at the new cars due out in Best Cars 2010.
After the difficult year that 2009 proved to be for the car industry, 2010 is shaping up to be a whole lot better with a plethora of new models due to hit the showrooms in the New Year.
New car releases and first out of the traps in January will be Peugeot's 5008. This 7-seater is based on Citroen's C4 Picasso and features the same clever seating system that allows a multitude of different arrangements to suit every family need.
March will be a busy month seeing the launch of the stunning Jaguar XJ, the new BMW 5 Series and the replacement for the Chevrolet Matiz, namely the Spark. The Jaguar XJ will probably continue to upset the traditional Jaguar owners as did the impressive XF. Existing Jaguar owners have a preference for the standard three box design and are unhappy with the coupe styling of the latest breed of cats. Nonetheless, the new XJ is a stunning piece of penmanship and looks set to be an instant success by appealing to a whole new group of customers.
The new BMW 5 Series will at last replace the quirky styling created by Chris Bangle with a design that is more conservative yet at the same time much more stylish and desirable than its predecessor.
The long overdue replacement for the Matiz, the Spark, will join its illustrious companions for its launch date in March. It is the first model to be built on GM's new small car platform and will initially only be available in 5-door form. A sporty 3-door should follow soon after however.
June will be a big month for Ford as it launches the third generation Focus to an expectant market. The latest Focus will be a global car meaning that only minor changes will be applied to models that are sold in all the world's markets.
Another car making a welcome return in June will be Alfa Romeo's Giulietta. Inspired by the Mito and C8 Competizione super car, the latest Giulietta promises to be a real head turner. Late summer and early autumn will see the arrival of Audi's baby A1 followed by Volkswagen's new Touran people carrier. The season will also see Volvo unveil its latest compact executive S60 which promises to be good enough to take on Audi's A4 and BMW's Series 3.
