Reports suggest that Mercedes is gearing up to release their new CLK range with the 'shooting brake' concept.
This unusually codenamed body style is a 3 door estate which may be offered alongside or as a replacement to the conventional coupe shape.
Is this the start of a new kind of bodystyle - the 3 door estate car? Either way, it's good to see style and structural design converge on something new. Mercedes are rumoured to be launching this new concept at the Paris Motor show in October.
The style of the CLK is likely to be considerably revised, with more angular front headlights and more aggressive front grille. The style overall takes on a slightly less curvy shape in favour of more corners and edges.
It's exciting to see a new bodystyle emerge - we're looking forward to seeing whether this new style is going to catch on.
The new e-class may also offer the shooting brake body style, and has incorporated a few other changes, including a longer wheelbase and is set to be released with a hybrid engine.
