New Porsche Cayenne Sports Cars to Watch

The Merdad Porsche Cayenne 902 Coupe is setting out to go back to basics - incorporating the same principles that have made the Porsche brand famous. With the ability to go from 0-100km in 4.4 seconds, this model is determined to appeal to Porsche purists and Cayenne lovers alike. Drivers can choose power levels of 550-750 horsepower, depending on their needs. It will be unveiled in November at London's MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show, but until then, skeptics are still withholding judgment on whether the vehicle will live up to the hype.

For a company whose flagship vehicle is a sleek roadster, a large sport utility vehicle might seem that it is well out of its element. Even so, the Cayenne has enjoyed nearly a decade of success from the SUV drivers who wanted the prestige of the Porsche name. It seems fitting that the automaker has developed the Cayenne coupe in hopes of bridging the gap between Porsche purists and SUV lovers.

The pricing, fuel economy, and release date for the Merdad model have not been publicized so far. Meanwhile, the current line of Cayenne vehicles for 2011 includes the Base, S, Turbo, and S Hybrid. The hybrid is still relatively new territory for Porsche, and the S Hybrid will be making its debut this year.
