HOW DO YOU KNOW THE PRICE WE GIVE IS ACCURATE?
The online valuation is an estimate based on industry standard prices and the demand for your type of car. If you are interested in buying a new car we offer a full valuation by our professional underwriters. To take advantage of this, you will need to complete a 'condition report' which allows us to identify the features of your car that will affect its value.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PRIVATE AND A TRADE VALUE?
The difference is based on how the car is sold. If you make the effort to sell your car privately i.e. prepare your car, advertise it, show people the car etc, then you have done a lot of work and can expect to make more money from the sale. If, however, you sell your car to a trader, like buyacar, we pass your car on to a used car trader who will expect to make a profit when selling your car on to a private customer. That means the trade price for your car will be far less than the price you expect to achieve privately.
Which one should I go for? Well, you can do both! We offer support for you selling your car privately and for part-exchanging / trading-in your car. So if you don't manage to sell your car privately you can always fall back on the trade price and trade in your car with buyacar.
