The Ateca is Seat’s first crossover car, taking the mechanical parts from the Leon family hatchback and using them to build an off-road style car. This results in a vehicle with a high driving position and lots of interior space, with the comfort and low running costs of a hatchback
-
The Seat’s angular styling makes the car look sporty, so you don’t feel like you’re driving a bloated big family car
-
It feels a bit sportier to drive than most other crossovers too. In corners the Ateca is extremely steady: it doesn’t lean very much, even at fast speeds and isn’t unsettled by potholes or bumps
-
The interior of the Ateca isn't quite as exciting as the exterior, but it's all logically laid out and should wear well
-
Inside, there are plenty of options to make your life easier, including an all-round camera and a self-parking system
-
There's enough room in the back to house two adults comfortably. However, when the rear seats are folded down, they protrude above the boot floor, which means that you can’t slide objects through: they need to be lifted over a lip

The Ateca's boot is bigger than many of its rivals, boasting a boot space of 510 litres. Where as, the Renault Kadjar and Nissan Qashqai will ony hold 472 and 430 litres respectively. Word of warning though, four-wheel-drive versions of the Ateca have a smaller boot of 485 litres to make space for the four-wheel-drive gubbins.
