If the car's just not right for you, then let us know.

Every BuyaCar vehicle comes with a warranty for peace of mind, which covers the major mechanical problems that tend to result in the largest bills.

Buy a new car and - depending on the warranty offered by the manufacturer - you could be covered for five years or more.

Many used cars are still protected by the manufacturer’s warranty, which you will benefit from until it expires. All other used cars are covered for at least 30 days.

What if something goes wrong?

All BuyaCar vehicles come thoroughly checked, tested and with a recent service, so you're extremely unlikely to encounter any problems.

If you are unlucky enough to find an issue, then we'll ensure that it's resolved swiftly.

For cars still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, the easiest approach is to call the local dealership for your make of car. It doesn't matter if they didn’t sell the car in the first place; they will honour the warranty.

Call us if you need to have a fault checked under our warranty. You’ll get the same hassle-free five-star service that every customer receives.

Beware free so-called health checks

Some garages tempt customers in by offering a free car health check, which is meant to ensure that your car is safe and roadworthy. Many customers then find themselves presented with a list of parts that are supposedly worn out.

These tend to be items such as brake discs, tyres and windscreen wipers, which do need routine replacement and aren’t covered by warranties - so the garage knows that there’s no risk of a warranty company expert double-checking their diagnosis.

If your car is serviced on schedule and has an MOT when required, then it's unlikely that parts will suddenly wear out and need replacement without warning. At the very least you should get the mechanic to show you any parts that they claim are worn out or, even better, get a second opinion from a trusted garage.

Extended warranty

For full reassurance, you can opt to take out an extended warranty on cars where the manufacturer's warranty no longer applies. Competition in the market means that prices are competitive and are based on the reliability record of the car that you drive and the typical cost of repairs as well as its age and mileage. BuyaCar works with Warrantywise to offer discounted extended warranties on cars at the point of purchase.
