What is Nissan ProPilot?

ProPilot is Nissan’s partially autonomous technology. Cars fitted with the system can accelerate, brake and steer on motorways and dual carriageways. It’s so advanced that you can take your hands off the wheel, let alone have a snooze behind the wheel, but it does help make journeys more relaxing.
Cars with Nissan ProPilot
At the moment, there are only two cars fitted with Nissan’s ProPilot technology, but the system is expected to be rolled out to more models as they are replaced or updated.
The cars available with ProPilot are:
- Nissan Qashqai
- Nissan Leaf
The system is optional on both vehicles.
How ProPilot works
Cars fitted with the proPilot system use a camera at the top of the windscreen, along with a rader behind the Nissan badge in the front grille. These build up a picture of the road ahead.
Every car with ProPilot has two systems that work together:
- Adapative cruise control
- Steering assist
- ProPilot Park
