Now the all-new Peugeot 208 is on sale, it's a great time to grab a fantastic deal on the outgoing 208. Launched in 2012 and updated in 2015 with smarter styling, some new engines, and extra safety tech, the outgoing model still looks cute and offers far better value than the new model, which will set you back from £16,250 up to a staggering £33,150 for the electric e-208.

If you're after an affordable, stylish and comfy small car, then the outgoing 208 will fit the bill just as well as the new model - and crucially it will leave you with a far smaller bill, with dozens of models available for around £10,000 or less. With plenty of used models to choose from, you can get a great price and have your car quickly delivered to your door with BuyaCar. Keep reading for details on all the best Peugeot 208 deals.

A continual stream of updates and additions to the 208 demonstrates just how important this model is to Peugeot; it competes in the hotly contested supermini arena dominated by the Ford Fiesta - the UK's best-selling car - so it has to remain consistently at the top of the curve. This means that if you go for a more recent model, you can take advantage of the latest kit plus prices that are many thousands lower than they would have been brand new.

If this all sounds good to you, you're in the right place. We've gone through all the best models of the Peugeot 208 range to find you the best PCP finance deals available to you right now on BuyaCar.

Peugeot 208 at a glance

In the 208’s favour are good looks, a range of economical but lively petrol and diesel engines, a stylish and well-built interior, and strong equipment levels. Interior and boot space are good, too, making this a very appealing all-round small car.

Driving-wise, the 208 lacks the Fiesta’s sporty feel but then that’s true of most superminis; it's still satisfying to drive, just not as fun as the impressive Fiesta. Meanwhile, the dashboard layout takes a little getting used to since you look over the top of the steering wheel to read the instruments, rather than through it. The idea is to minimise the time your eyes are off the road, as the dials are higher up on the dashboard,  and it's not a huge departure once you get used to it.

Despite the arrival of the all-new 208, the outgoing 208 continues to be sold in two high-value special trims called Signature and Tech Edition. Both are also available as used cars, with identical engines and equipment levels, and the savings are clear when picking one of these versions.

For example, new, the 208 1.2 PureTech 82 5dr costs £15,355, but BuyaCar has 2019 examples that have covered just 5 miles for £10,490. That's a saving of 32%, and the car is essentially brand new. The savings continue with one-year old versions with around 8,000 miles on the clock starting at around £8,500. Together, these and the 208’s all-round appeal add up to a great used car - especially when you take the affordable prices into account.

Peugeot 208 Active offers

Active is a very popular trim level. Not only is it cheapest, but it also comes with most of the comfort features you could hope for in a supermini including air-conditioning and a touchscreen media system with a digital radio and full mobile phone connectivity.

This media system includes pairing technology so you can use your phone as a sat-nav. On a practical level it also has a split-fold rear seat, while rear parking sensors were a £270 option, so look out for used Peugeot 208s with these included if you'd value a little extra help getting into tight spaces.

Peugeot 208 Allure offers

On the subject of parking sensors, Allure trim 208s have them as standard. This version also has automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, and larger alloy wheels, making it feel like a more upmarket machine.

From new, Allure versions cost around £1,200 more than Active models but as a used car, the difference is only around £600 more expensive, making it even better value for money.

Peugeot 208 Allure Premium offers

After all of the kit that's included with the entry-level 208s you might be forgiven for assuming that the 208 has essentials such as rear electric windows as standard. In fact, these only enter the picture with Allure Premium.

Go for Allure Premium, though, and you also get desirable kit like folding mirrors, a reversing camera and a panoramic sunroof, which gives the car a more upmarket feel. When it was new, all this extra equipment cost £500, but on the used market there's no real price difference Allure Premium and Allure versions, so it's worth hunting down the former.

Peugeot 208 GT Line offers

Not to be confused with the range-topping GTI, this trim is nevertheless a sporty looker. Based on Allure Premium trim, it adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a chrome exhaust and gloss black mirrors for those who value the style of the sporty GTI but can do without the power.

GT Line is only available with the more powerful engines - barring the most powerful 1.6-litre engine fitted to the GTI - and new, cost £600 more than Allure equivalents. As a used car expect to pay around £500 more.

Peugeot 208 Black Edition offers

Also offering a sporty look is this special edition, only available in three-door form. It’s based on entry-level Active trim but adds 16-inch alloy wheels, gloss black door mirrors and grille, and a choice of black or white body colours.

Used ones are around £500 more expensive than standard Active five-door models, which just goes to prove the power of good looks. If you want the best value car for your money, you're better off sticking with a basic Active model.

Peugeot 208 Signature Edition offers

This special is one of two runout editions introduced ahead of the new model arriving. Peugeot describes it as sporty and elegant but its specification reads very much like the Allure trim.

This means there are automatic headlights and wipers, folding mirrors, and rear parking sensors in addition to dark tinted windows, blue interior stitching and chrome mirror caps. New, the 1.2 PureTech version cost £16,455 but 2018 68-plate examples with just 7,000 miles on the clock are available from less than £9,000, making them fantastic value.

Peugeot 208 Tech Edition offers

This second runout edition piles on the extras having electric windows all-round, sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors plus a rearview camera and dual-zone air-conditioning.

It also has active city brake, a system that automatically applies the brakes to avoid low-speed collisions. It had a new price of £18,740 but BuyaCar has 2018 68-plate examples with just over 20,000 miles on the clock for less than half that.

Peugeot GTi Prestige offers

Wind back 30 years and this car's predecessor - the original 205 GTI - ruled the hot hatch roost but today, that honour goes to the Ford Fiesta ST. Not that the 208 GTi is a poor rival. In fact, it’s one of the best hot hatches on the market with strong grip and performance.

It used to be called the GTi but as the outgoing 208's final days approached it was renamed the GTi Prestige. In the process it gained half leather trim and sat-nav to go with its sporty body kit. It’s quite rare but excellent value with 2018 18-plate examples with around 15,000 miles costing around £12,500 - or £10,000 less than new.
