The Audi TT Roadster is one of the most desirable soft-top cars you can get - find the right second-hand deal for you here

The Audi TT Roadster is a stylish and well-engineered alternative to soft-top cars like the Porsche 718 Boxster, BMW Z4, Audi A3 Cabriolet, Mini Convertible and Mazda MX-5. If you’re after the best soft-top Audi TT deals, read on to discover more about each trim level and the second-hand offers currently available.

As the name suggests, the TT Roadster is the soft-top version of the Audi TT Coupe. This means you get all of the benefits of the Coupe - superb engines, a classy interior and a strong image - with the added advantage of wind-in-your-hair motoring. The major difference is that the TT Roadster is a strict two-seater, unlike the coupe, which has two small rear seats and you do without a hatchback boot opening.

The fabric roof opens or closes electronically in just 10 seconds at speeds of up to 31mph, so don’t worry if you get caught in a downpour on a rare mild evening. You also get 280 litres of boot space, regardless of whether the roof is up or down, so it’s ideal if you fancy a night away.

Most Audi TT Roadsters leave the showroom with a 2.0-litre 'TFSI' petrol engine. The 40 TFSI engine offers decent performance if you’re more interested in cruising, but the more powerful 45 TFSI is preferable if you fancy getting the best out of a British country road. The latter is also available with four-wheel drive for some added all-weather reassurance.

The sportier TTS gets an even more powerful version of the 2.0-litre petrol engine, while the hardcore TT RS draws power from a fantastic 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine. The extra horsepower and superb warbling soundtrack of the TT RS add an extra layer of enjoyment to the soft-top Audi TT.

All newer versions feature a seven-gear 'S-tronic' automatic gearbox, though a manual gearbox was available in the past, as was a diesel version. The 2.0-litre diesel offers excellent fuel economy and great overtaking ability, but you might not welcome the slightly gruff sound of the engine with the top down.

If the Audi TT Roadster sounds like the soft-top car for you, read on to get to grips with which kit comes with the different versions and for the best deals on the Sport, Sport Edition, S line, Black Edition and Vorsprung versions.

Audi TT Roadster Sport deals

With new prices from around £35,500, the entry-level Sport is the most affordable Audi TT Roadster you can get. However, you can save plenty of money by opting for a used or nearly new version through BuyaCar.

There are many reasons why you might be tempted to stick with the Sport model. You get the same high level of finish throughout, stunning good looks and a similar top-down experience as one of the more expensive models.

Just be aware that these specs are based on the TT Roadster available new, so specific used models you’re looking at might be a little different in terms of what's included. But don’t worry, because few soft-top Audi TTs leave the showroom without a couple of desirable extras, so you're just as likely to find unexpected extras, as kit that is standard on new models missing.

The Sport model features 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, heated seats, a retractable rear spoiler, cruise control, rear parking sensors, smartphone connectivity, air-conditioning, sports seats and a leather multifunction steering wheel.

Audi TT Roadster Sport Edition deals

Upgrading to the Sport Edition adds around £1,000 to the price, but there’s a real sense that you’re getting more for your money. The headlines are 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a black styling pack for a bolder look, plus everything that’s standard on the Sport model.

If you fancy the extra bling, it’s worth remembering that the difference could be as little as £10 per month on finance; the big price differences found on new cars are normally much smaller when those new cars become used.

Audi TT Roadster S line deals

The S line trim pushes the starting price of soft-top Audi TTs close to £38,000 for new models, but this is one of the most popular trim levels in the UK. That means that finding a used example on BuyaCar should be very easy and with so much choice, you should be able to find some great value used models.

Not only do the full LED headlights fitted look a bit sharper, but you’ll also be able to see better in the dark, so the TT Roadster S line is perfect for those late-night drives home from the office. It also gets LED rear lights and dynamic rear indicators, which scroll when activated.

Other highlights include more sporty S line exterior styling details, 19-inch alloy wheels, suspension lowered by 10mm and sports seats with S line branding. The S line feels better to drive on a twisty road, but it comes at the expense of ride quality, which is a little firmer than on the lesser versions. Fortunately, you can select from different driving modes.

Audi TT Roadster Black Edition deals

The Black Edition costs a little over £39,000 when new, but the black accents should mean that you stand out from the crowd.

You also get a set of supersized 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels to fill the wheelarches, LED headlights, a black styling pack, plus everything that comes as standard on the S line models.

Audi TT Roadster Vorsprung deals

Short of upgrading to the high-performance TTS or TT RS models, the Vorsprung is the Audi TT Roadster at its most lavish. It costs £45,000 upwards when new, but you do get lots of optional kit on other models thrown in to justify that.

The Matrix LED headlights are brilliant at illuminating the road ahead and dim individually according to oncoming traffic to offer the best lighting without dazzling drivers ahead. It means that you won’t have to concern yourself with dipping the headlights. You also get LED rear lights and dynamic front and rear indicators that scroll when used.

Vorsprung also adds sat-nav to the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, park assist with a rear-view camera, a 36-month subscription to the Audi Connect range of entertainment and information services, S line sports seats and deluxe air-conditioning, which displays the temperature on the centre of the circular air vents. It’s, er, very cool.

Audi TTS Roadster deals

The high-performance Audi TTS Roadster is a model in its own right, with a price tag knocking on the door of £50,000 when new. It’s also available with the Black Edition and Vorsprung upgrades outlined above.

In addition to the more powerful 2.0-litre 'TFSI' petrol engine and four-wheel drive, the TTS gets LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, sporty S styling, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel with sat-nav, Audi Connect, rear parking sensors, deluxe air-conditioning, cruise control, Super Sports premium leather seats with four-way lumbar support and a TTS steering wheel.

You also get Audi’s so-called 'Magnetic Ride', which continuously adapts the suspension to suit the driving conditions. This means that you can tailor the feel of the car depending upon the type of driving you're doing.

Audi TT RS Roadster deals

The Audi TT RS Roadster is the sportiest version of this desirable soft-top. If the 2.5-litre petrol engine, which makes a distinctive warbling sound isn’t enough, you also get four-wheel drive, sports suspension, RS styling upgrades and a TT RS steering wheel. This is in addition to everything you get on the standard TTS.

Upgrading to the Audi Sport Edition adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a black styling pack, privacy glass and high-beam assist. For the ultimate indulgence, you can upgrade to the TT RS Roadster in Vorsprung trim. It costs around £68,500 when new, but look out for far more affordable used deals on BuyaCar.
