The Jaguar XE is a stylish rival to four-door saloons like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4. As with all upmarket models, though, brand new prices are on the high side. So, if you’re after the best Jaguar XE deals, read on to discover more about some of the most popular trim levels on BuyaCar and check out the best used car deals available now.

Launched in 2015, but given a big update in 2019 and further tweaks in 2020, the Jaguar XE is a strong alternative to the German rivals mentioned above, offering a generous level of standard equipment and a driving experience rivalled only by the BMW 3 Series. Choose an XE and you should get more for your money, along with styling that will turn many heads.

A lightweight aluminium chassis ensures that the XE is great to drive on a country road while delivering impressive claimed fuel economy. This keeps the running costs in check, especially if you opt for the D180 diesel engine. The 2.0-litre petrol engines offer a great blend of performance and fuel economy, while keen drivers will want to consider the 3.0-litre petrol version.

An update in 2019 saw the XE treated to new exterior styling, but the biggest improvements could be found on the inside. Highlights included a revamped interior, more equipment and improved technology. A further update announced at the end of the 2020 included a new mild hybrid diesel engine, an upgraded media system display and further tweaks to the interior.

If the Jaguar XE sounds like the upmarket compact saloon for you, read on for the best deals on the standard S and R-Dynamic S models. There are also three specification packs, which are explained in detail below: SE, HSE and Black.

These are the current versions - we also outline some of the older trim levels, but it’s worth noting that the XE has become more generously specified as the years have passed. So if you want the best equipped model you can get, it's wise to look at more recent versions.

Jaguar XE S and R-Dynamic S deals

Starting at a little over £30,000, S trim versions are the cheapest Jaguar XEs you can buy. The amount of specification you get is extremely generous, too, so you could find that you don’t need to upgrade to one of the more expensive models.

On the outside, you get automatic LED headlights with high beam assist, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED rear lights and animated indicators. On the inside, highlights include 12-way electric heated front seats, ambient lighting, leather seats, push-button start and dual-zone climate control to allow the driver and front-seat passenger to select separate temperatures.

An impressive 10-inch digital media system is fitted as standard, along with a 140-watt sound system, digital radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The XE’s five-star Euro NCAP safety rating is underlined by emergency braking, cruise control with speed limiter, lane departure assist, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

For an extra £1,000, you can upgrade to the R-Dynamic S model. The performance remains the same, but the suspension is lowered for a sportier ride, and there’s a host of cosmetic upgrades. Highlights include 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, R-Dynamic leather steering wheel and perforated leather sports seats.

Jaguar XE R-Dynamic SE deals

The R-Dynamic SE model costs around £1,000 more than the R-Dynamic S. You get everything that’s standard on the R-Dynamic S, plus 18-inch gloss dark grey alloy wheels, automatic dimming and electrically folding door mirrors, keyless entry, an interactive driver display, blind spot assist and rear traffic monitor.

Jaguar XE R-Dynamic HSE deals

There’s a big jump in price to the R-Dynamic HSE, but the cost is justified by the substantial level of kit. For around £35,000 to £40,000 when new, depending on the engine, you get matrix LED headlights to give an unrivalled view of the road ahead. The system adjusts the beam when there is oncoming traffic, so there’s no need to dip the headlights.

Other highlights include 19-inch alloy wheels, which look superb but do serve to worsen the XE’s otherwise comfortable yet sporty ride. There’s memory and approach lights in the door mirrors to welcome you back to the car at night, plus a 400-watt Meridian sound system, Windsor leather seats with memory function, a 5.5-inch lower touchscreen display, adaptive cruise control and rear collision monitor.

Jaguar XE R-Dynamic Black deals

At £33,500 upwards, the R-Dynamic Black is a little more affordable than the R-Dynamic HSE. That said, it’s also less well-equipped, so you might decide to splash out on the flagship model.

Highlights of the R-Dynamic Black version include LED headlights, 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels and a sliding panoramic roof. Otherwise it’s broadly similar to the R-Dynamic SE level.

Jaguar XE Prestige deals

You can’t buy a new Jaguar XE in Prestige trim, but it was a popular upgrade from the entry-level SE model in the past. It also represents excellent value for money on BuyaCar, with used prices starting from £15,000 when paying cash, or around £250* per month on PCP finance.

The spec will vary depending on when the XE was registered, but you should expect to find the likes of grained leather upholstery, heated seats, interior mood lighting and chrome interior accents. This is in addition to the standard SE spec, which includes 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-inch touchscreen media system, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and a suite of driver assistance systems.

It’s worth the extra expense, because the Portfolio adds 18-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable perforated Windsor leather seats, xenon headlights for greater illumination, headlight washers, a chrome grille and a 380-watt Meridian sound system.

Jaguar XE R-Sport deals

The R-Sport trim is the most prevalent version of the Jaguar XE on BuyaCar, accounting for more than half of the available used cars. It was a relatively expensive model when new, but used prices are far more appealing, especially when paying monthly.

It’s sporty by name and sporty by nature, with lowered sports suspension for a firmer but more controlled ride. You’ll be able to carry more speed when cornering, making the XE R-Sport a genuine rival to the BMW 3 Series.

Highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels, two-tone leather sports seats, gloss black window surrounds, R-Sport styling pack, xenon headlights and headlight washers.

Jaguar launched the XE Landmark Edition in 2018, and while you’ll pay a little extra for this special edition, you will get more for your money. It cost £37,000 when new, but around £20,000 or so should be enough to get your hands on a used model on BuyaCar now.

There are three colours available: Yulong White, Firenze Red and Santorini Black. It’s based on the R-Sport model, but highlights include unique 18-inch alloy wheels, gloss black exterior trim, an R-Sport leather interior, unique Landmark Edition treadplates and and bespoke badges.

Jaguar XE Reims Edition deals

A case of saving the best Jaguar XE until last? Unveiled at the end of 2019, the Reims Edition paid homage to the famous race track in France. Production was limited to just 200 units, each one finished in French Racing Blue.

It cost around £38,000 when new, which was a bargain for a limited-run model, so look out for used examples on BuyaCar. Highlights include a black contrast roof, black exterior accents, 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels, privacy glass and black interior accents. You also get a Cold Climate pack comprising heated windscreen, heated steering wheel and headlight washers.
