The Kia Sorento is a stylish and well-equipped seven-seat family SUV. Check out the latest deals and find the right version for you

The Kia Sorento is a seven-seat rival to large SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe, Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail. It’s also a competitor to upmarket models like the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Volvo XC90, especially since the launch of the current model in 2020.

Seven seats come as standard, which isn’t always the case in a large SUV, and there’s enough room inside for seven adults. If the seats in the third row aren’t required, they can be folded down to reveal a substantial 600 litres of boot space, making this an excellent family car.

Both the old Sorento (on sale from 2015 to 2020) and the current model come with a 2.2-litre 'CRDi' diesel engine, which does a good job of powering this large SUV, even with all seven seats occupied. The launch of the current Sorento also saw the arrival of a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which is available as a self-charging hybrid or plug-in hybrid. The latter offers up to 35 miles of electric range, so it’s ideal for covering the school run or a short daily commute on electric power alone - provided you remember to charge the car before leaving.

Like the other models in the Kia range, the Sorento comes with a seven-year warranty, which gives it an edge over its key rivals. If the Sorento sounds like the family SUV for you, read on to discover more about the best deals on the ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘4’ trim levels. We’ve also included information on the old KX-1, KX-2, KX-3, GT-Line and GT-Line S trims, as these represent exceptional value for money on BuyaCar.

Best Kia Sorento deals

Kia Sorento ‘2’ deals

The entry-level Kia Sorento ‘2’ costs just shy of £40,000 when new, but you certainly get a lot for your money. Put simply, the equipment that’s standard on the Sorento would cost much more on a pricier upmarket SUV.

Highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone air-conditioning, third row air-conditioning, a digital instrument cluster rather than traditional analogue dials, an eight-inch touchscreen media system, LED headlights and heated seats. You also get a reversing camera, smart cruise control, speed limit assist and forward collision avoidance.

This specification is based on a Sorento ‘2’ with hybrid powertrain. The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) costs an extra £5,000, and while the specification is broadly the same, you do get 19-inch alloy wheels as standard.

The ‘3’ also comes with black leather upholstery, keyless entry and go, an electric tailgate, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger and heating for the outer seats on the second row. The PHEV adds LED headlights and directional indicators.

Kia Sorento ‘4’ deals

The Sorento ‘4’ is a premium SUV in all but name. It costs around £47,500 as a hybrid or £53,500 as a plug-in hybrid when new, but you’d pay considerably more if the Sorento had a more posh badge on the front.

The seats, which are ventilated to keep you cool on a hot day, are finished in the finest Nappa leather upholstery, while above your head you’ll find a panoramic sunroof with slide and tilt function. There’s also a customisable head-up display, which displays driving information on the windscreen, a 12-speaker Bose sound system and blind spot monitor.

Kia Sorento KX-1 deals

Kia Sorento front three quarters view

The KX-1 is the old entry-level Sorento, but you wouldn’t know it when you look at the specification. Your biggest challenge will be finding one, because a lot of drivers upgraded to the mid-range KX-2 and KX-3 models.

Highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, a seven-inch touchscreen media system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, air-conditioning, rear parking sensors, cruise control, automatic headlights and manual air-conditioning for the rear seats.

Kia Sorento KX-2 deals

Moving up to the KX-2 adds the option of an eight-speed automatic gearbox and more equipment. The larger 18-inch alloy wheels do a great job of making the car look bolder, plus you get black leather upholstery throughout. Seat heaters for the front and outer rear seats are great on a cold day, while the driver gets to enjoy a heated steering wheel.

It gets better, because the KX-2 adds self-levelling suspension for a more comfortable ride, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control to allow you and your front passenger to select different temperatures, sat-nav, ambient lighting and a USB charger in the rear.

Kia Sorento KX-3 deals

The KX-3 offers everything you’ll find on the KX-2 model, plus much more besides. No wonder it’s one of the most popular trim levels on BuyaCar. If you want maximum equipment for the minimum cost, going for an older '3' model could be a wise option.

You get LED headlights and LED rear lights for greater illumination at night, keyless entry and start, electric tailgate for easy opening, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof and wireless phone charger.

The KX-3 provides the best blend of price and equipment, especially when you factor in the seven-year warranty, which means that even if you get a three-year-old model, you'll still get the same amount of manufacturer warranty cover as you'd have with most new cars.

Kia Sorento GT-Line deals

The GT-Line is the trim to choose if you’re after sportier exterior styling and an upgraded interior. You also get large 19-inch alloy wheels which certainly look the part, but they can upset the otherwise excellent ride quality, making the car firmer over potholes and bumps in the road.

GT-Line also comes with black leather upholstery with white stitching, LED rear lights, electrically adjustable front seats, keyless entry and start, and lane keep assist. It’s best to view the GT-Line as a KX-2 model with a sportier appearance.
