Which used Jaguar XE should you buy?
The Jaguar XE is a stylish rival to four-door saloons such as the desirable Mercedes C-Class, agile BMW 3 Series and classy Audi A4. As with all these upmarket models, though, new prices are on the high side. For many buyers, a used model will make more sense.
A lightweight aluminium chassis ensures that the Jaguar XE is great to drive on a country road, while delivering impressive claimed fuel economy. This keeps the running costs in check, especially if you opt for the D180 diesel engine.
The 2.0-litre petrol engines offer a great blend of performance and fuel economy, while keen drivers will want to consider the 3.0-litre petrol version.
The Jaguar XE was launched in 2015, and an update in 2019 saw it receive new exterior styling, and a revamped interior, with more equipment and improved technology.
A further update announced at the end of the 2020 included a new mild hybrid diesel engine, an upgraded media system display and further tweaks to the interior.
If in-car technology is important, later models are the ones to seek out.
