Have you ever felt like there's something missing while you're driving home from work? You might you think you have it all with your heated seats, your heated steering wheel and your cruise control. But you could go a step further and employ your own private masseuse for the road.

Massaging seats have become the luxury accessory to have if you're looking for the ultimate in upper class driving. But the most interesting thing about them is that you don't have to spend upper class prices to buy a car that has them included.

In fact some of the best value cars currently on sale come with massage seats, with used prices on BuyaCar starting from under £20,000, so it's a very achievable goal if you're keen.

It is true that these cheaper systems are not quite so advanced as the more high-end examples. Where a Peugeot 3008 will provide some basic vibrations in your back, a Rolls-Royce Phantom massage is more akin to a full body experience.

No matter your budget though, getting a massage from your seat as you cruise along the motorway is bound to help you relax, and if it's relaxation you're after, these cars will be able to oblige. Do be sure when purchasing a used car that you confirm it is equipped with massage seats, in some cases the option to have them included will not have been selected by the original owner of the car.

Used cars with massaging seats

1. Skoda Superb

Best car with massage seats for value

Our pick Skoda Superb 2.0 TSI Laurin & Klement DSG
Used deals from £15,995

The Skoda Superb packs quite a punch when it comes to space for your buck. It has a huge boot (625-litres) and more room inside than a Mercedes E-Class, Audi A6, and BMW 5 Series.

The enormous amount of space in the rear does make the Superb brilliant to be chauffeured in, and the chauffeur can drive while having their back massaged. This is on the top-of-the-line Laurin & Klement Edition though.

2. Peugeot 3008

Best car with massage seats for reliability

Our pick Peugeot 3008 1.2 PureTech GT Line Premium EAT8
Used deals from £18,490

The Peugeot 3008 has been a surprise package of late, greedily sweeping up awards like a competitive eating champion at a buffet 30 minutes before closing time. It picked up the Carbuyer Best SUV 2018 gong, as well as the Auto Express Driver Power Car of The Year 2018. Only 11% of owners reported faults - much lower than most other new cars on sale. Basically, it’s a great-all rounder and reliable.

The driver gets a massage seat with five different massage types, varying in degrees of ferocity. They come as standard on GT Line Premium models, or as an optional extra on other trims, but be aware not all used versions will come with the massage seats included.

3. Volkswagen Tiguan

Best car with massage seats for driver seat adjustment

Our pick Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI SEL DSG
Used deals from £17,995

If you’ve not seen a Tiguan in the metal, think of a Volkswagen Golf on stilts and you’re pretty much there. Both share mechanical bits, although the Tiguan is slightly larger and has a more chunky image.

SEL spec models have a driver’s seat that can be adjusted in 14 different ways, with a massage function. Although it should be noted that massage is not available with posh ‘Vienna’ leather.

4. Jaguar XJ

Best car with massage seats for long-legged passengers

Our pick Jaguar XJ 3.0d V6 Portfolio LWB
Used deals from £28,750

The XJ is pitched at exec-types who enjoy driving themselves to important meetings. It handles like a much smaller car, has minimal body roll, and the steering feels direct, like a much sportier offering.

The big Jaguar offers massages for all four occupants, so no one feels left out. The massage function includes five settings, and in the rear is controlled via the middle (non) seat that flips down. Long wheelbase models have over a metre of legroom for rear passengers too.

5. BMW 7 Series

Best car with massage seats for exercising your bum

Our pick BMW 740Ld xDrive
Used deals from £23,999

The BMW 7 Series has a lot going for it. It’s a handsome thing for a start - and has lots of kit. Plus it has engines that range from supercar-baiting 6.6-litre V12 to a diesel that puts it in the lowest company car tax bracket.

The massage seating in the 7 Series takes things to a whole new level - in that it has a ‘whole body exercise’ setting. This has two paddles that elevate each half of your buttocks alternatively. Really.

6. Mercedes S-Class

Best car with massage seats for hot stone treatment

Our pick Mercedes S350d L AMG Line
Used deals from £27,499

The Mercedes S-Class has been a pioneer in the automotive world since it first graced the roads in 1954. It was the first production car to get seatbelt pretensioners, the first saloon with a turbodiesel engine, and the first to get adaptive damping.

Mercedes takes its flagship model very seriously too, right down to the seating’s massage system. It can mimic a hot stone treatment thanks to a series of heating grids firing up in a specific order. S-Class seats can also cool you by redirecting cold air from the bottom of the car too.

7. Range Rover

Best car with massage seats for off-roading in

Our pick Range Rover 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography
Used deals from £37,500

It’s not surprising to see a Range Rover feature in this list. The company has long been regarded as a luxury vehicle supplier, but new Range Rovers are also tech-laden.

The massage functions (complete with 14 cells in each seat) can be controlled via an app on your phone, along with the heating, and cooling of the seats. It also has a Hot Stone feature that keeps part of the seat warm, but cools the other parts, to simulate the relaxation of a hot stone massage.

8. Rolls-Royce Phantom

Best car with massage seats for opulence

Our pick Rolls-Royce Phantom V12
Used deals Limited stock

A Rolls-Royce Phantom allows people to know your wealth, even before they've seen what suit you're wearing. The Phantom is pretty much as ostentatious as you can get. So you know it has some pretty trick massage seats.

They’re handmade in the south of England and can be specified pretty much with whatever specification the owner would like. The rear of a Rolls is nearly endlessly customisable - so much so that you can even choose what type of seat you’d like in the rear. The executive seat is best for massage loving occupants - as it offers a massage that goes up and down in waves, as well as a separate shoulder-to-lumbar massage at the same time.
