Mazda CX-5 dimensions: exterior

You’ll need to get your tape measure out and check your driveway can accommodate the Mazda CX-5. It’s longer than the average SUV in its class although the body is only of average width. Bear in mind, the average width in the class with mirrors is 2077mm. Consider, as well, that if you’re entering a place with an overhead security barrier, such as a car park or a recycling centre, that the CX-5 is taller than the average SUV.

On the other hand, that it’s 30mm longer between the wheels than average is a cause for celebration since that generally means there’s more space for occupants.

Mazda CX-5 boot space

Some crossovers can fall down for being just a little stingy on boot space. While the CX-5’s boot is no yawning cavern it is at least of average size, which means it’ll take a large buggy and most of the paraphernalia for a weekend away.

Mazda CX-5 dimensions: interior

Often, it’s rear-seat passengers who are short-changed by interior dimensions; not so with the CX-5. Rear legroom that’s an impressive 60mm more than average is great news, although note that headroom is only average, which means those over six-foot tall may find their hair brushing the roof lining.
