Car dealerships are in a race to clear stocks of brand new cars to hit their end-of-year targets, and it means that there are enormous savings of £10,000 or more off some Mercedes models.

These include new and unregistered cars that have not yet been fitted with a number plate, meaning that the buyer will become the first owner of these cars. In some cases, cars have been pre-registered. These only have a handful of delivery miles on the clock but already have a first owner listed on their documentation. This is normally a car dealership that has registered a vehicle to hit their sales target .

Big discounts are available on popular C-Class, E-Class and CLS cars, all available for immediate delivery. These are just a small selection of vehicles on offer . Scroll down for our pick of the best deals or click below to search them all.

It hasn't taken long for large discounts to appear on the all-new Mercedes A-Class which went on sale earlier this year. The list price isn't cheap, but this problem is rectified by deals offering almost £5,000 off high-specification models.

Pre-registered A-Class models with the Executive Pack include an impressively large 10.25in widescreen dashboard display, heated front seats and self-parking ability, in addition to the already-high specification, and pre-registered prices start at £23,990.

Mercedes CLA 200 AMG Line Edition Shooting Brake

Save £6,576 on list price

The curved lines of the Mercedes CLA Shooting brake mean that it's not the most spacious estate car available, but it does have considerably more style than most. It's due to be replaced next year with a new model that's based on the A-Class (above), so the savings are mounting.

There's currently a 22 per cent saving on a new and unregistered AMG Line Edition model, which has a large number of options already selected, including reversing camera, 18in alloy wheels, artificial leather and microfibre seats, and climate control. .

Newly updated with better technology and more efficient engines, the Mercedes C-Class is currently the best car of its type on the market. The most practical estate version is cheap too, thanks to an enormous saving of almost £9,000 on the price of a new and unregistered car.

Sport trim includes heated front seats, a reversing camera, artificial Artico leather and a range of safety technologies. The latest petrol-powered C200 has mild hybrid technology to boost fuel economy by shutting down the engine unobtrusively for short bursts when cruising at a steady speed.

With more space than the C-Class and the option of Mercedes' latest widescreen dashboard display, the Mercedes E-Class is a noticeable step up. It doesn't come at considerable cost, though, thanks to further large savings on pre-registered cars, which start at .

Cheaper still are some diesel-powered SE models which are ready for delivery but haven't yet been registered. A saving of almost £10,000 brings the price down to little more than £28,000. However, stocks are limited and unlikely to last long.

Mercedes E220 d AMG Line Premium Cabriolet

Save £10,970 on list price

The insulated fabric roof of the Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet opens in 20 seconds to let the sunshine in and expose the car's sculpted lines. An Airscarf neck heating system that makes winter top-down driving comfortable comes standard. Cars with the Premium package include a larger 12.3in dashboard display that's next to another screen of the same size, behind the steering wheel. It gives the impression of a vast digital display stretching across half the car.

Savings on an unregistered E220 d diesel model add up to almost £11,000.

Mercedes CLS 350 d 4Matic AMG Line

Save £10,794 on list price

With lots of space and more style than most cars, the Mercedes CLS manages to be practical and good-looking, as long as you like that sweeped back rear end.

The latest car, launched earlier this year, is available with a 17 per cent saving of almost £11,000 for an unregistered model in AMG Line trim, which includes a 360-degree camera and Burmester sound system. There are few other pre-registered Mercedes CLS deals, so this one could disappear quickly.

Mercedes GLA 200 d AMG Line

Save £7,788 on list price

It's stylish and hi-tech, with the added bling of that big Mercedes badge. But if there is one criticism of the car, it's that from new, it can get quite pricey.

Luckily, it's available with nearly £8,000 off the asking price. This is for an AMG Line model too, meaning it has a full leather interior with contrasting stitching and racy looking alloy wheels. A word of warning though - there are very few of these around.
